Prof. Annamaria Viterbo

Annamaria Viterbo is Associate Professor of International Law at the Department of Law of the University of Torino and a Law Affiliate of the Collegio Carlo Alberto. She obtained a PhD in International Economic Law from the Bocconi University of Milan. After a Legal Internship at the ECB, she was Jean Monnet Fellow at the Robert Schuman Center for Advanced Studies of the European University Institute, Florence and Visiting Scholar at the IMF Legal Department. She published a monograph titled "International Economic Law and Monetary Measures: Limitations to States' Sovereignty and Dispute Settlement" in 2012 and her new book “Sovereign Debt Restructuring: The Role and Limits of Public International Law” is forthcoming in 2020. Her research focuses on international economic law, with a particular focus on the IMF, sovereign debt and the law of the European Monetary Union. Current projects include a research on extraterritorial sanctions and on arms trade.
